Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a reactive and potentially mutagenic organic compound. It can be found in heated edible oils such as sunflower and palm oils and is a marker for oxidative stress. Increased levels of MDA have been found in corneas of patients suffering from keratoconus and bullous keratopathy. MDA also can be found in tissue sections of joints from patients with osteoarthritis. Copyright Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License.
