Description

The following are types of erythrocyte (RBC) inclusion bodies:
Pappenheimer bodies- iron granules in RBCs usually due to accelerated erythropoiesis.
Basophilic stippling- represents ribosomes remaining in RBCs usually do to accelerated erythropoiesis.
Heinz bodies- hemoglobin inclusions in RBCs.
Howell-Jolly bodies- nuclear remnants in RBCs usually do to accelerated erythropoiesis. Source: Regenstrief Help
