Timing "Since Last Observation"

How would one indicate a timing indicating the time period since the last recorded observation.  “Has the patient urinated (defecated, been outside, etc) since the last time we checked on them?”  The actual time will vary and doesn’t even have a “default” like the discussion of 24hr if only 23 have passed.  This sort of recording is common in some veterinary nursing notes.
