Term Description
Capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive procedure used to evaluate various types of gastrointestinal pathology. It involves the patient swallowing a capsule containing cameras that capture images of the gastrointestinal tract. Colon capsule endoscopy is primarily used to evaluate for colon neoplasia in different situations, such as when colonoscopy is not feasible or was not able to be completed, or as a screening for low- or moderate-risk populations.
