Part Descriptions
LP16256-7 Piperacillin
Piperacillin is an extended spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic of the ureidopenicillin class. It is normally used together with the beta-lactamase inhibitor tazobactam to form Tazocin ® or Zosyn ® (marketed by Wyeth-Ayerst). The combination has activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens and anaerobes, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Piperacillintazobactam is administered intravenously. Its main uses are in intensive care medicine (pneumonia, peritonitis), some diabetes-related foot infections and empirical therapy in febrile neutropenia (e.g. after chemotherapy).

LP434420-8 MIC.VOC detection
MIC.VOC detects bacterial growth using an array of chemical small molecule sensors that change color in the presence of various metabolic gases (volatile organic compounds) emitted by growing bacteria during incubation to determine minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC).
