Tylvalosin [Susceptibility] by Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC)
Active
Part Description
LP263252-1 Tylvalosin
Tylvalosin (previously name: acetylisovaleryltylosin, trade name: Aivlosin) is a macrolide antibiotic mainly active against Gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma. The drug inhibits protein synthesis by reversibly binding to the 50S ribosome subunit. Tylvalosin is used in pigs, chickens and pheasants. In pigs, tylvalosin is used to control enzootic pneumonia (EP) and porcine proliferative enteropathy (PPE) outbreaks. PMID: 17964089 PMID: 19767637 In chickens and pheasants, the antibiotic is used for the treatment and prevention of respiratory disease associated with Mycoplasma gallisepticum. PMID: 22107092
