Cannabinol [Mass/volume] in Serum, Plasma or Blood by Mass Spectrometry
Active
Part Description
LP230022-8 Cannabinol
Cannabinol is derived from the Cannabis plant and is a metabolite of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It possesses potential immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory properties. Cannabinol preferentially binds to the cannabinoid g-protein coupled receptor CB2 which is located on a number of immune cells including T-cells, B-cells, macrophages and dendritic cells. When cannabinol binds to the CB2 receptor it can trigger apoptosis and inhibit the production of some cytokines making it useful as an immunosuppressant or anti-inflammatory drug. [PubChem: cannabinol]
