Active
Part Description
LP14980-4 6-Monoacetylmorphine
6-Monoacetylmorphine (6-MAM) Is an intermediate metabolite between heroin and morphine. It is the primary molecule involved in the effects of heroin in the body. Heroin can cause feelings of euphoria and drowsiness. It can also lead to suicidal thoughts, liver failure, heart failure and death. Since heroin is an illicit drug, heroin and its metabolites are routinely ordered as part of a drug screen or drug abuse panel. PMID: 24595354
