Ethambutol is a bacteriostatic antimycobacterial drug prescribed to treat tuberculosis (Mycobacterium tuberculosis). It is usually given in combination with other tuberculosis drugs. It is sold under the name Myambutol. Bacteriostatic against actively growing TB bacilli, it inhibits RNA synthesis and bacterial growth.
