Part Descriptions
LP15431-7 Beta alanine
In biochemistry, beta-alanine is the only naturally occurring beta amino acid, which are amino acids in which the amino group is at the -position from the carboxylate group (i.e., two atoms away). The IUPAC name for beta-alanine would be 3-aminopropionic acid. Unlike its normal counterpart, L-alanine, beta-alanine has no chiral center. beta-alanine is not used in the biosynthesis of any major proteins or enzymes. It is formed in vivo by the degradation of dihydrouracil and carnosine. It is a component of the naturally occurring peptides carnosine and anserine and also of pantothenic acid (Vitamin B-5) which itself is a component of coenzyme A. Under normal conditions, beta-alanine is metabolized into acetic acid.

LP15431-7 Beta alanine
Beta-Alanine is an amino acid metabolite converted from Anserine. Formed in vivo by the degradation of dihydrouracil and carnosine. Since neuronal uptake and neuronal receptor sensitivity to beta-alanine have been shown, the compound may be a false transmitter replacing Gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA). Increased with Hyper Beta-Alanemia, a rare genetic disorder. Information from Online Medical Dictionary.org 2006 12 22.

LP32035-5 Creatinine
Creatinine or creatine anhydride, is a breakdown product of creatine phosphate in muscle. The loss of water molecule from creatine results in the formation of creatinine. It is transferred to the kidneys by blood plasma, whereupon it is eliminated by glomular filtration and partial tubular excretion. Creatinine is usually produced at a fairly constant rate and measuring its serum level is a simple test. A rise in blood creatinine levels is observed only with marked damage to functioning nephrons; therefore this test is not suitable for detecting early kidney disease. Creatine and creatinine are metabolized in the kidneys, muscle, liver and pancreas.
