Part Description
LP16712-9 Herpes virus 6
Human Herpes Virus 6 (HHV6) is a member of the Beta-herpesvirus subfamily. HHV6 infection is extremely common, with seroprevalence almost 100%. Primary infection results in a fever that may exceed 40 degrees Celsius and last for 3-5 days. Primary infection in children often results in fever followed by development of roseola or sixth disease. The virus exists as latent infection in lymphocytes and monocytes following the primary infection and may be reactivated in immunocompromised patients. Information from ARUP Laboratories 2007 01 08.

- The PrThr property is used for LOINC terms whose results are reported using an ordered categorical scale, regardless of whether or not an internal threshold was used to make that determination. This change was approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.; Updated Answer list type from NORMATIVE to EXAMPLE because the Answers in the list (Positive, Negative) are only examples of possible answers and not an exclusive list
