Cryptosporidium parvum is a parasitic protozoa that infects humans and domestic mammals. C. parvum (and a few other species) are the cause the disease called cryptosporidiosis, an acute watery diarrhea that is not bloody, and is sometimes accompanied by anorexia, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
