Topiramate (known by brand names Topamax, Qudexy XR, and Trokendi XR) is an anticonvulsant used alone or with other medications to treat certain types of seizure, including primary generalized tonic seizures and partial onset seizures. It can also be used to control seizures in people who have Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a disorder that can cause impaired intellectual function, developmental delays, and behavioral disturbances in children.
