Term Description
The interviewer asks the participant questions about whether she/he and male/female partner are trying to become pregnant. If the participant answers that she/he and her/his partner are trying to become pregnant, the interviewer asks how long they have been trying. Although these two questions from the National Survey of Family Growth are addressed to male participants, the PhenX Working Group recommends these be asked of either males or females, ages 15 and older. The PhenX Working Group recommends this measure should be followed by "Causes and Treatments of Known Infertility" for a more complete assessment of infertility.
