NEMSIS has different protocols for infants and adults, but the scores are the same. Also, while there are NEMSIS-specific component values, there is no NEMSIS-specific total or panel in LOINC. Since the GCS panel includes the pre-existing codes, the NEMSIS-specific scores would never be used. Therefore, NEMSIS recommends using pre-existing code.
