Part Description
LP145536-1 Bordetella pertussis+Bordetella parapertussis.filamentous hemagglutinin
Bordetella pertussis is a bacterium that causes pertussis, a highly infectious and contagious disease known as whooping cough. Testing for B. pertussis using IgA, IgG, and IgM filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA) and pertussis toxin antibodies is performed on adults with paroxysmal coughing and atypical pertussis symptoms. Significant rise in IgG may not always be demonstrated since peak levels may be reached before the first sample is collected; therefore, both IgA and IgM antibody levels should be measured to diagnose active disease.
