This term refers to point of care (often CLIA waived) testing in a clinical or lab setting for the quantitative measurement of cross-linked fibrin degradation products (D-Dimer) in whole blood. The term was created for, but not limited to, Mitsubishi Chemical Medience's PATHFAST® D-Dimer test kit.
