This test measures the argininosuccinic acid (argininosuccinate) level in children who have been diagnosed with argininosuccinic aciduria and are on a therapeutic diet for their condition. Dried blood spot specimens are sent to the lab for monitoring tests periodically. The argininosuccinic acid level is used to monitor the patient's progress.
