Part Descriptions
LP29074-9 Inositol.free
Inositol (formula C6H12O6 or (-CHOH-)6), or hexahydroxycyclohexane, is a sixfold alcohol (polyol) of cyclohexane. It exists in nine possible stereoisomers, of which the most prominent is free inositol, or myo-Inositol. Myo-inositol is incorporated into phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates, playing an important role as the structural basis for a number of secondary messengers in eukaryotic cells. Inositol supplements have been tested as a pharmacological intervention for a variety of conditions including bulimia, depression, panic disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Increased levels of myo-inositol in urine have been reported in diabetics (both insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent). Quantification of myo-inositol is possible by various methods, including enzymatic assays, magnetic resonance spectroscopy and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

LP32035-5 Creatinine
Creatinine or creatine anhydride, is a breakdown product of creatine phosphate in muscle. The loss of water molecule from creatine results in the formation of creatinine. It is transferred to the kidneys by blood plasma, whereupon it is eliminated by glomular filtration and partial tubular excretion. Creatinine is usually produced at a fairly constant rate and measuring its serum level is a simple test. A rise in blood creatinine levels is observed only with marked damage to functioning nephrons; therefore this test is not suitable for detecting early kidney disease. Creatine and creatinine are metabolized in the kidneys, muscle, liver and pancreas.
