Reticulocyte corpuscular hemoglobin concentration mean (CHCMr) is a measure of the average hemoglobin concentration contained in reticulocytes (immature red blood cells). Along with other reticulocyte indices, such as reticulocyte hemoglobin content (CHr) and mean corpuscular volume (MCVr), CHCMr can be used to monitor treatment efficacy for various types of anemia, including sickle cell anemia treated with hydroxyurea, iron-deficiency anemia treated with IV iron, and various types of anemia treated with erythropoietin.
