Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) is a member of the family Coronaviridae in the genus Deltacoronavirus. It is related to Transmissible Gastroenteritis (TGE) Virus and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv) and causes similar but sometimes less severe disease in swine as PEDv. Porcine deltacoronavirus does not affect humans or other non-porcine animals. Co-infection with other enteric pathogens like PEDv is common. PMID: 27270129
