The aldosterone to renin ratio (ARR) can be determined by dividing the molar concentration of aldosterone LOINC 14586-2 divided by the mass concentration of renin (also known as active renin concentration or 'ARC') LOINC 35570-1. ARR results above 130 pmol/ng indicate primary aldosteronism. ARR results between 100 - 130 pmol/ng are indeterminate and suggest a need for repeat testing. PMID: 21912488 The ARR can also be determined by dividing the mass concentration of aldosterone by the renin activity in blood plasma LOINC 55151-5. PMID: 15483077
