T-cell receptors (TCR) are composed of two polypeptide chains. The majority of TCRs have an alpha and a beta chain, but a small subset have gamma and delta chains. T cells with TCR gamma delta show less TCR diversity compared to TCR alpha beta and are more common at epithelial surfaces.
