Part Description
LP200257-6 Stenosis classification
Coronary artery stenosis is usually graded based on the classification developed by an American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association task force. Characteristics of Type A lesions include length <10 mm, a concentric pattern, little or no calcification, absence of thrombus, and no major branch involvement. Type B1 lesions are those that contain one type B characteristic, which characteristics include length 10-20 mm, eccentric pattern, moderate to heavy calcification, and the presence of some thrombus. Type B2 lesions contain two or more type B characteristics. Type C lesions are characterized by length >2 cm, extensive tortuosity of the proximal segment, extremely angulated segments, and total occlusion >3 months old. PMID: 2401060
