Term Description
Advancing Care Information (ACI) is a performance category under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The ACI section is used to capture ACI quality reporting measures from providers over a specific reporting period. Providers report on various objectives, including protection of patient health information, electronic prescribing, patient electronic access, coordination of patient care, health information exchange, and public health reporting. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, ACI section in the HL7 CDA Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) III document.
