Part Description
LP248235-6 Growth phase
Growth phases refer to the persistent stages of tumor development. In melanoma, there are two types of growth phases. Radial growth phase is lateral spread of the melanoma, which leads to a plaque -like appearance. Vertical growth is growth from the superficial skin surface to deeper layers. Radial and vertical growth phases are widely considered to be characteristics of melanoma and not used to describe other neoplasms. PMID: 15113872
