Veterinary Medicine: Sulfadimethoxine is a long-acting sulfonamide antibiotic, and is used to primarily treat coccidial infections in animals. When combined with ormetoprim, sulfadimethoxine can treat skin and soft tissue infections caused by strains of staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli and urinary tract infections caused by escherichia coli, staphylococcus, and proteus mirabilis infections.
