Veterinary and human toxicology testing may include analysis of thousands of chemicals, including organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates, aliphatic hydrocarbons, industrial pollutants, disinfectants, antioxidants, miscellaneous pesticides, polycyclic aromatics, alkyl benzenes, some natural products, vitamins, plant and fungal toxins and some drugs. LOINC has qualitative and quantitative codes for many specific chemicals that are more commonly tested for, but for chemicals that are identified that do not have a specific LOINC code, this code is used to report that the chemical was detected, and either [LOINC: 88867-7] or [LOINC: 88866-9] is use to report its quantity, if applicable.
