Active
Part Description
LP268226-0 Vortioxetine
Vortioxetine is an antidepressant used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD). It binds to a variety of serotonin receptors and also inhibits the reuptake of serotonin, thereby increasing the amount of 5-HT in the synapse. Vortioxetine may also help reduce symptoms of anxiety. PMID: 25851751
Vortioxetine takes about 2 weeks to reach steady-state concentration in the plasma, and it is primarily metabolized in the liver to an inactive metabolite. Side effects are primarily self-limited and include nausea, headache, and abdominal pain. PMID: 29920978
