Part Description

LP268428-2   3-(4-fluorobenzoyl)propionate
3-(4-fluorobenzoyl) propionic acid (FBPA) is one of the metabolites of the antipsychotic medication haloperidol, a dopamine D2 receptor blocker used to treat a variety of disorders including schizophrenia. Haloperidol has several metabolic pathways. The primary one is glucuronidation, which accounts for approximately 50% of its metabolism; another 25% is reduced. The remainder undergoes different types of oxidation, including N-alkylation, which splits the haloperidol molecule into FBPA and 4-(4-Chlorophenyl)-4-hydroxypiperidine
