Anti-glial nuclear antibody type 1 (AGNA-1) targets the Sox1 nuclear antigen found in Bergmann cells, a specialized glial cell type found in the cerebellar cortex. AGNA-1 antibodies are associated with paraneoplastic Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) and paraneoplastic neuropathies associated with small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
