The ratio of cannabidiol (CBD) to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in urine is measured to determine whether a positive urine THC test is likely the result of CBD use.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted from the Cannabis plant and unlike other phytocannabinoids lacks any psychoactive properties. CBD does demonstrate analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antineoplastic and chemopreventive characteristics. The CBD qualities of anti-proliferative, anti-angiogenic and pro-apoptotic leads to the inhibition of cancer cell invasiveness and metastasis. It may also help increase the uptake of cytotoxic agents in cancer cells.
