The endogenous thrombin potential is the area under the curve of a thrombin generation test (TGT). It represents thrombin's total enzyme activity and is the most predictive of bleeding and/or thrombosis risk out of all the TGT measurements. Decreased ETP is associated with bleeding tendencies, while increased ETP is associated with thrombosis. PMID: 21262433
