Version 2.80

Description

CD3 is a marker found on all functional T cells, while CD5 is a cluster of differentiation antigen found on most T cells and a subset of IgM secreting B cells. In normal subjects, most CD3+ T cells also express CD5. About 76 % of T cell neoplasms express Cd5, although it is not present in cutaneous T cell lymphoma. The absence of CD5 in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia is associated with poor prognosis Source: Regenstrief LOINC
