Tiglylcarnitine+methylcrotonylcarnitine (C5:1)
Active
Description
Measurements of acylcarnitines have been used to assist in the diagnosis of multiple disorders of amino acid, fatty acid, and organic acid metabolism, especially those involving fatty acid beta-oxidation. Elevated C5:1 (isomers tiglylcarnitine or methylcrotonylcarnitine) occur in beta-ketothiolase deficiency (BKD) and holocarboxylase synthetase deficiency. Source: LOINC partner 1
