Description
Aspergillus flavus is a fungus known to produce the carcinogen aflatoxin and is pathogenic to several plant and animal species, including humans and domestic animals. PMID: 20507532 It is commonly found on corn and peanuts and can also infect the seeds of cotton and nut trees. A. flavus causes aspergillosis in humans, especially among immunocompromised patients.
