Version 2.78

Description

Azinphos-methyl, or AZM, is a general organophosphate pesticide used on nuts, vegetables, and fruits. It has been linked to health problems of farmers who apply it and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is considering a denial of registration. After a 2006 lawsuit by United Farm Workers of America the EPA will begin phasing out the pesticide over 4 years. AZM is a dangerous neurotoxin derived from nerve agents used during World War II.
