Ribonucleoprotein extractable nuclear
Active
Description
Ribonucleoprotein antibody (anti-RNP) is an antinuclear autoantibody (ANA) that binds to the U1-ribonucleoprotein of the ribonucleoprotein multi-enzyme complex. Anti-RNP belongs to the extractable nuclear antigen (ENA) subset of ANA. The anti-RNP binds with the U1-ribonucleoprotein, which is part of the ribonucleoprotein multi-enzyme complex. Anti-RNP-70 is a 70 kDa U1-RNP protein that provides the highest diagnostic sensitivity for MCTD. Some patients with autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic sclerosis, can also produce anti-RNP antibodies.[http://autoimmunityblog.com/autoantibodies/from-g-to-p/ribonucleoprotein-antibodies-anti-rnp/] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
