Streptococcus anginosus is a species of Streptococcus. DNA homology studies and 16S rRNA sequence analysis demonstrate S. angiosus is collectively known as the Streptococcus anginosus (or milleri) group along with Streptococcus intermedius and Streptococcus constellatus. Streptococcus anginosus is part of the human bacteria flora, but can cause diseases including brain and liver abscesses under certain circumstances.
