Description
Elvitegravir is an integrase strand transfer innhibitor (INSTI) active against the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Therapy with elvitegravir may be used in combination with cobicistat (a CYP3A4 inhibitor), emtricitabine and tenofovir (both nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors). The treatment is often associated with increased alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels in serum with no reports of clinically apparent liver injury.[NIH LiverTox: Elvitegravir] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
