Description

Tetrahydrofolic acid, or tetrahydrofolate, is a folic acid derivative.

It is produced from dihydrofolic acid by dihydrofolate reductase. This reaction is inhibited by methotrexate. It is converted into 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate by serine hydroxymethyltransferase.
