Description
Given the standard deviation and mean of a normal distribution and a data value, the Z score represents the number of standard deviations that the tested value varies from the mean. It is positive if above the mean and negative if below the mean. The Z score is particularly useful for comparing the relationship between data points when those data points derive from populations with different means and/or standard deviations.
