Description
Oxcarbazepine is an anticonvulsant used to treat epilepsy and sometimes bipolar disorder. The metabolite of oxcarbazepine, 10-Hydroxycarbazepine, inhibits the repetitive neuronal firing and propagation of synaptic impulses associated with seizures by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in the brain.
