Description

CD158a (KIR2DL1), CD158b (KIR2DL3), and CD158e (KIR3DL1) are killer cell inhibitory receptors. They are involved in the regulation of NK cell mediated cytolytic activity upon interaction with human major histocompatability complex (MHC) antigen C (HLA-C) and HLA-B alleles. The CD158 a, b and e markers are used to distinguish non-neoplastic/non-clonal natural killer (NK) cell populations from neoplastic/clonal NK cell lymphoproliferative disorders. CD158b is also a useful marker in the evaluation of kidney transplant rejection. Source: LOINC partner 1
