Description
Acetyl fentanyl is an illicitly synthesized derivative of fentanyl with no legitimate medical use or legitimate production. Acetyl fentanyl is reported to be 5 times more potent than heroin and has been directly linked to over a dozen overdose fatalities as of July 2013. In response, the CDC issued a health advisory for acetyl fentanyl recommending increased testing vigilance to identify acetyl fentanyl use. Source: LOINC partner 1
