Description

Tissue polypeptide antigen (TPA) is a molecular complex containing cytokeratins 8, 18 and 19. (Int J Biol Markers. 1994 Apr-Jun;9(2):102-8). It has been found to be a tumor marker, elevated in solid tumors, including lung, breast, and bladder. Tissue polypeptide specific antigen (TPS) is a proteolytic fragment of cytokeratin 18 and is an epitope of TPA. TPS is also used as a tumor marker for solid tumors, including Wilms tumor.
