Cryoglobulin.IgA
Active
Description
Serum cryoglobulins are immunoglobulins that, in vitro, precipitate at temperatures below 37°C and redissolve on rewarming.Cryoglobulins can be transient and without clinical implications or they can be a marker of significant disease. Monoclonal cryoglobulins, which are IgG, IgM, or IgA, or monoclonal free light chains, are usually associated with haematological disorders. Mixed cryoglobulins, which contain polyclonal immunoglobulins with or without a monoclonal component, are found in many infectious and systemic disorders. There is a significant association between essential mixed cryoglobulinaemia and hepatitis C virus infection (> 90%). PMID: 11825916 Source: Regenstrief LOINC, PMID: 11825916
