Description
Chromosomal translocation t(6;9)(p22;q34) DEK-NUP214 is found in acute myeloid leukemias (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).[Atlas Genetics Oncology:t0609] A large study found the 5 year overall survival for patient's with this translocation was 28% in children and 9% in adults. PMID: 16628187 Patients who achieved extensive molecular remission had a better outcome than patients with persistent presence of DEK/NUP214.
