Pseudouridine
Active
Description
Pseudouridine (Psi) is catalyzed from uridine by pseudouridine synthases. It is primarily a degradation product of transfer ribonucleic acid (tRNA) and is the most predominant modified nucleoside found in RNA. It enhances the function of transfer RNA and ribosomal RNA by stabilizing the RNA structure. PMID: 25192136 Urinary modified nucleosides, including pseudouridine, are found to be elevated in patients with oncogenic diseases PMID: 7522008 and hepatitis PMID: 2456010. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
