Version 2.80

Description

Provasopressin.C-terminal, also known as copeptin, is a 39-amino acid glycopeptide that comprises the C-terminal part of provasopressin, a precursor of vasopressin. Copeptin is more stable in serum or plasma compared to vasopressin and copeptin assays are simpler and less time-consuming to run. In addition, copeptin has been shown to be a sensitive surrogate marker for vasopressin release. Copeptin is used to help diagnose diabetes insipidus and monitor various conditions, including sepsis and cardiovascular diseases. PMID: 18291667 Source: Regenstrief LOINC ,
